Andrea Issler-Fisher
Dr Issler-Fisher is a renowned expert in scar management and reconstructive surgery, with a particular focus on burn scars and keloids. A graduate of the University of Zurich’s Faculty of Medicine, she completed an MD thesis in Burn Surgery and later earned her PhD in Reconstructive Burn Surgery at the University of Sydney. She successfully undertook the EBOPRAS (European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) fellowship examination.
From 2013 to 2022, Dr Issler-Fisher worked at Concord Hospital, where she founded the Burn Scar Clinic in 2015. She introduced a pioneering treatment approach that received the NSW Premier’s Award for Improving Service Levels in Hospitals and the Anthea Kerr Award for Individual Excellence.
Dr Issler-Fisher is the driving force behind Scarless – The Clinic, where she dedicates her expertise to transformative scar management. Alongside her clinical work, she is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales, and actively engages in national and international research collaborations to advance scar treatments.
